Wait, we're visiting Mount Horn again?

I'll be okay with that.

Is that a real thing in game or just existed in this comic?

oooOOO! Wes pokin' at Mewtwo's temper. Watch it now!

"Well we got the ore, so now what?"

The problem with working with tungsten ore really isn't its relative rarity in available deposits but rather all the features that make it so appealing to use in industry makes it nigh on impossible to work with without some serious heavy industry. For starters due to its low chemical reactivity and insanely high melting point its extremely tricky to get cheaply made pure samples of the element. So much so in fact that nobody in the real world even tries to ship it in its pure form in bulk and makes the buyer generally have to go and finish the job themselves. Honestly, it might be easier to figure out how to get back to the human world and buy what he needs there then try and make it himself due to the methods needed to make even lab scale amounts of elemental tungsten or tool grade tungsten carbide run into the same "tools to build the tools" problem as before....

...But I may just be over-thinking things just a smidge....

Who else is getting the mental image of Mewtwo just randomly playing something like SimCity?

  Time to smelt

Great thing about steel types tell them the composition of the metal and they can find it. also making all these machines will be easy as some pokemon will help to skip a few steps, soon the PMD world will be as industrial and advanced as the human one

Hidden PMD Lore bomb incoming! *BOOM* So that is where they get the material for the badges, but how do they imbue them with the power to teleport?

As for building the machines, just finding rare and common earth metals isn't the biggest hurdle for them. It took humanity hundreds of years to invent complex devices such as computers, software driven machinery, and the knowledge of precise engineering to make the stuff. How the eff are they going to go from the stone ages to modern day software/computers/electronic devices/ and create something rediculous like a "Made up invention: Sythio-Photonic Molecular Genetic De-animatizer?" Fack, I don't even know if what I typed there makes any sense, but using machines to manipulate the cellular structure of sentient creatures with the ability to wield element powers and fire them back each other like its nothing makes even less sense. Like...do you just push a bunch of buttons and cover the subject with a bunch of magnets...jeezus, Science, I need science to explain this to me, even though Mewtwo's designs were obviously amazing! @_@

Also, Team Charm and the others still don't know that Wes and N are former humans. But Gardevoir's side glace suggests she's starting to catch on a bit. Lopunny and Medicham might be a little freaked out or caught off guard if they found out though.

Lopunny: "So...uh, what are these video games that you Mr. Boss Kitty seem to be rather familiar with?"

Wes: "...A-are you telling me that you guys don't have stuff like Donkey Kong, Contra or Super Mario 64 in this world!?"

Team Charm: "...whaaaaaaa...?"

It be really amusing to see a group of pokemon trying to play video games lol.

Oh come on Wes, there's nothing wrong with being well rounded (said by a guy who plays almost nothing except racing games).

As to the issue at hand, there's one big problem here. If Darkrai was genetically reengineered to be incurable, then theoretically, another geneticist could undo Lovrina's work... but to my way of thinking, genetic engineering is witchcraft by definition.

Thanks, Lovrina. Thanks a whole freakin' lot.

@Shotgun Chuck

Or, to speed up the plot, they could just get Lovrina to do it. :D

Nah, that would be too easy, lets just teach ourselves to be really smart and find a cure within the next 20 pages, we'll show them!

@Readrunners - Mt. Horn is a location in the PMD: Explorers games.

You can read up on the location here:

Anyways I'm just happy Team Charm was finally clued in to Darkrai's curse after so long.

Thing is, Mewtwo is arguably the most powerful psychic in the world at this point, so couldn't he just shape it with his mind? I mean, he did hold up a unstable tunnel that he carved with a focus blast.

Hello, random metagross to the rescue!
@Readrunners: As has already been said, mt. horn is a location in PMDTDS. 15 floors, but the wolfram bit, I think, is an addition.

HEY, I take extreme umbrage with that Wes!

All the SIM city games except for the reboot and city skylines are some of the best simulator games out there. For the love of God there are other simulators as well that I love but especially SIM city 3000 being 1 of my favorites. I for one can't stand that kind of bad mouthing.

Come on Mewtwo. Save yourself some headaches.

....How the hell does a random Metagross know about Wolframite?! I mean, I get it, he's a steel type, he knows what metal is, but unless he came from the human world, I just can't fathom how he would have that specific knowledge about Tungsten. That is just too convenient lmao.

  Wait

If Pokemon from the Pokemon world go to the human world do they become human??? I know this comic isn’t an official one but that would be a bit weird

posted by Julian (Guest) on November 3rd, 2018, 10:26 am

@Julian - As of currently, it's unknown. Currently in canon to all PMD games, the most PMD world Pokemon have ever been in contact with humans in the human world is via dreams only. No Pokemon from the PMD world have set upon human territories.

That's not to say Pokemon don't exist in the human world though. While not confirmed in canon, several main series items do exist in the PMD world leading credence to the thought the human world is the world of the mainline Pokemon games.

While also unconfirmed in canon, it's assumed the player of the Explorers games came with Grovyle from the human world to investigate the PMD world's bad future and try to reverse it.

As to Victory Fire, it rolls with the thought that 1) No Pokemon from PMD will turn into humans upon arriving on human territories. Hoopa and Mewtwo themselves have shown this. 2) Only humans that have been cleared to enter the PMD world will be transformed.*

*There's only been one exception. The player from Explorers was allowed into the PMD world's bad future non-transformed. It took Darkrai's attack during the player and Grovyle's time travel attempt to transform the player.

>tfw binge read this whole comic in one day and already having weird ideas about it

honestly, during my entire playtime in pmd i always thought: 'wow, this is literally stone age tier society'
Towns are tiny, tech lackluster and inconsequential, etc etc.
Kinda funny to see this adressed here.

Also i wonder if we'll ever meet the pmd mc's
or any other human in that matter

Mewtwo Plays Sim Games

Is there a pop culture reference that Mewtwo does not know? Did Mewtwo upgrade his lab since the First Movie? Also, where did the Metagross come from?

  Industrial shortcuts

@guest with the metallurgical info:

That's an interesting thought on the difficulty, but I don't think you picked up on the fact that the pokemon already use the metal, somehow. We do know certain fire pokemon can get quite hot, but the low chemical reactivity... hm, I wonder how the pokemon go about the process with the explorer badges. If steel types can sense or taste it in some fashion, to produce viable tungsten products, it could mean a source of trade for any specialty items they can't easily produce themselves, if you take in Mewtwo's highly mobile nature, perhaps taking N to ease things with those who might want to capture Mewtwo out and about.

The key here could be the money, or other things of value. It could speed things up with Mewtwo's science project. He can zip in and out of the rift in spacetime that protects the PMD lands no problem, and exchange both tungsten products and information he picks up with his psychic powers for any blueprints and, say, metal composition analysis equipment if the steel types do not have that ability. The Almia interior pokemon ought to have several things worth money to humans, it's just a matter of getting that initial start with the tungsten to fuel their development.

Very interesting! I wonder if Mewtwo will want to inspect a badge now... and if they are tungsten carbide or elemental. The latter sounds... less likely? I dunno, I'm more read up on the ferris side of things. But the fact that the pokemon know of and utilize this material is quite a pleasant shock! Suddenly I want to know everythiiing.

1. They probably use metal molds for the badges.

2. They use Poke$ coins or something if I remember. Not sure if they use the same process to create their currency. Something tells me that their currency somehow spilled over into their world via mystery dungeons from the human world, like TMs did.

3. They still don't know if its safe to travel between worlds right now. Mainly because their world has somehow been severed from the human one after that black hole or whatever almost destroyed the planet.

@SmartTurtle04 I wonder if Mewtwo also plays D&D with N, but then I can see Mewtwo playing like Shadowrun given how much fun that one can be, and seems up his ally.

OH GOD! Pokemon Mystery Dungeon but with a cyberpunk theme like cyberpunk 2077 or Shadowrun, or something fantasy?
