Alima is where a pokemon spinoff takes place, and the spinoff is called "Pokemon Rangers, shadow of Alima". I played a bit of it once, but lost intrest.

To Medicham:

It’s not who, but WHAT is Almia

You're going to hate me for this, @ReaderWriterNerd&Geek, but...

I'm pretty sure sulfurbunny DOES mean "astrological," as in, "relating to astrology," as in, "the fact that the horizon and really the whole entire sky was kind of exploding for a while there"

Okay, I'm sorry, I'll go away now ;)

Mew Two Is A Meteorologist.

Next up we have Jen with Darkrai, being an expert on nightmares, on what the nightmare that has been this last month. Gangar on the best flavors of shaved ice are. Lastly we have Medicham on why Confusion was effective on her and Loppuny. Is Victini stuck in a hole somewhere? More on this at 8:00 pm.

... Anybody else realize that was being said in the same Philip Bartlett/Jay Goede and or Dan Green voice as the Anime? Also also, they're actually in Almia? I thought they were in some kinda parallel dimension thats entrance was in Almia?

Oh don't worry Mewtwo, the next crisis is right around the corner. Actually it's around your neck.

I do believe our boy is drunk on relief and leftover concussion.

Actually astrology is the study of the stars involving arcane science and ritualistic magics.
So maybe they did mean "astrological"

posted by Siks on July 8th, 2018, 8:10 am

@SmartTurtle04 That would be great and all but we have to find some way for his psychic thoughts to be picked up by the microphone, Otherwise it'll be just total dead air at that point.

@PJSam I think the land mass is part of the area when it was part of the physical location before it was cut off. My guess is that it is possible that a good chunk of the landmass near the portal's human world end is missing, maybe dare I say the human town with it? Imagine all the humans suddenly being able to understand their pokemon because the humans where sucked in as well? Things like the creation engine going boom and causing a Pseudo black hole must have alot more far reaching Consequences.

Mew Two Is The Best.

Mew Two has a good taste in movies. First, Star Wars References, and now Good Morning Vietnam. I like these little moments with Mew Two. I wonder if there can be any more?

posted by SmartTurtle04 on July 9th, 2018, 12:19 pm

@Siks and @Bwsrfn11: Yeah, astrological does mean relating to astrology, but astrology is the study of the effect the movement of the planets and asteroids has on people and their daily lives. Astronomy is the study of the physical planets and stars. What was happening there, the sky exploding, is more astronomical than astrological.

  whats is mewtwo talking about

for real tough what is mewtwo talking about , and who the heck is almia never heard of him, and a think mewtwo is news reporting =_=

haha, "Temp is a balmy I-don't-know-don't-have-a-thermometer." Oh Mewtwo, how you are funny sometimes.

posted by Leekodot15 (Guest) on July 15th, 2018, 11:01 pm

@SmartTurtle04 only problem would be is finding a way for the Psychic telepathy to be picked up by a mic.

While the systems involving the creation engine, and Mewtwo's estimation of a logirithmic growth rate of its event horizon(using the general definition here, not to say its certainly a black hole) are characteristic of astronomical phenomenon- the rest of the events in the void do seem a bit more astrological.

For example, the losing of Pokemons' powers in its boundaries is a phenomenon not really explainable by any known laws of physics-at most we could connect it to some quantum explanations of the psyche and the ethereal/astral plane given that pokemon retained their material forms and abilities-only losing those powers that possibly had been bestowed upon them by "The Original One", which probably even sounds like "Original One" theology.

The sky exploding and the characteristics of the void resembling a black hole do resemble astronomical phenomenon. But they don't really follow any other characteristics intrinsic to these phenomenon-at least not physically. Granted, we're probably not going to see any time dilation in the movement of the rocks, and the complications of the frames of reference probably make illustrating them a pain. But there was no visible force pulling inwards when
Victini fell nor any tugging gusts to indicate the presence of a force. And as for the sky-exploding, well that isn't exactly an astronomical phenomenon as much as it is experienced as a consequence of one-and these phenomenon mostly high intensity Gamma ray bursts from blazars, the collision of the Andromeda with the milky way, or a Corona Mass ejection from the sun, could all be pretty much world-ending.

Also the scale of the region of the events(inter-dimensional as the Pokemon world may be) was too small to have anything considered astronomical- there were hardly any astronomical objects-the moon and the sun were passersby and not involved let alone any larger celestial bodies.

Given that astrology refers to the possible impacts(considering that it is considered a pseudo-science) of the celestial bodies on mortal beings the event does seem more astrological than astronomical as it focused more on the Pokemon themselves. Any astronomical event pretty much occurs in scales large enough both in space and time to vastly exceed mortal lifespans and not to be influenced in any significant way by their actions. Granted, the concept of time can be waived somewhat, taking time dilation into account, but the space still seems too small to be considered astronomical.

Now I must apologize for adding in possibly unnecessary complications but I wanted to make sure I had a thorough counter to a valid argument. I also must admit that I'm liable to be biased in favor of the writer as this is a comic I have yet to find a flaw in, regarding such subtleties and technicalities, and I am hoping I find none.
