Jen used mercy
But will it be effective...?

Tae kwon do please!

As I have said, hand-to-hand combat is humans' bread and butter. Under training, we can have hundreds of fighting moves at our disposal, usage on will.

Victini will have absolutely no chance in winning. Especially if hir first move is lunging hir entire body to Jen, which is so clichéticly noobish.

Human's attacks with only the use of physical contact such as punch and kick is known as close combat in the pokemon world so that kind of attack is effective even if you are not a fighting type pokemon.

Ware is the space globe? Gengar had one job to do and that was too move floating rocks around. He lets one hit Mewtwo in the head and knock him to his death before saving him. It's a concussion. You get like 3 freebies.

@ILeninVelikyNamPutOzaril: this means that 1 fighting is like a sandwich to humans, nothing is easier and 2 pokemon without attacks are powerless and therefor get there butt kicked in multiple ways

posted by Shadow_Strikr on April 24th, 2018, 7:24 am

@Shadow_Strikr I mean, it's not always black and white, but generally Pokemons have neigh free will when it comes down to improvised movements. Without someone instructing they won't really be able to do anything beside what they are trained to. I mean, that's what trainers are for yeah?

I'm also not saying that all humans can fight, I'm just being a bit hyperbolic. What I mean is that under a guven situation like this one, Jen would almost surely win, since she has more free will and conscience when it came down to hand-to-hand combat. While Victini, even as XD003, a legendary, and having more base stat, wouldn't be that great in "close combat."

A chance is enough but will it the second?

not sure about that, lenin. with kecleon, this series has shown that even pokemon that have been with humans since birth can learn to act independently.

On the other hand, gengar and jen's training sessions from way back bring up that discrete Moves with well-defined and sometimes arbitrary typing is a rule from canon that HAS carried over, while still allowing for fights not using real Moves. Also, I haven't noticed any kind of 4-move limit.

With all that said, the reason victini is losing is because she relied on her raw power to compensate for her lack of skill, so she fails hard when that doesn't work. To all psychic types out there, remember to lift rocks every once in a while.

*facepalm* at victini

Everybody! Welcome to Pokemon/Undertale Jen uses Mercy but will it work! That is the question we all are asking!

  Jen-co Punch!

Someone was gonna make the joke.

Also worth noting that Victini did get a good hit in. Jen is now bleeding. On her face. Just below the eye. That can’t be healthy.

Jen won Round One!

Thank you everyone who bet on what would happen today. The Final Pot was $33,500 Poke', (plus a Friend bow, Shaved Ice (Lum Berry) and leftovers.) Congratulations on if guessed this much would happen! (I guessed that Jen would come out on top.) You get a pat on the back! Apparently the money is going to help Humans turned Pokemon, and Pokemon that went though the XD Process Charities (Respectively). Thank you for participating. Have fun! Any one want to bet what happens Friday? P.S. Did Victini just use Scratch? Hopefully Jen will heal!

*To Victini*
Fallen Angel/ In the dark/ Never thought you'd fall so far!
Fallen Angel/ Close your eyes/ I won't let you fall tonight!
Fallen Angel/ Just let go/ You don't have to be alone!
Fallen Angel/ Close your eyes/ I won't let you fall tonight!
*To everyone in the comments* I regret nothing...

victini is acting like a tiny dog trying to be threatening

posted by Guest on April 24th, 2018, 2:04 pm

I feel like mentioning Darkrai was a bad idea since Victini kinda considers him a traitor.

Anyone here noticed just how feral Victini looks in all panels? Jen looks like Kenshiro From Fist of the North Star with that look in her face.

posted by MercenaryX on April 24th, 2018, 3:40 pm

Jeez, I hope Victini doesn't have rabies. Oh wait...

Also, her pouncing like that reminds me of Stitch 626 lol.

Battle sequence.

Victini used scratch, Jen counter it with Mega Punch.

Victini flinched, Jen used Mercy.
(Until next time.)

The Bets are Off!

@Nosh Ware When did you bet your house on the fight? No one really lost anything. (Except maybe Victini)

posted by SmartTurtle04 on April 24th, 2018, 6:02 pm

  Not much to lose anywho...

@SmartTurtle04 Well, It wsnt much of a house in the first place, its just a cardboard box realy.

This - meaning both rigidly-applied type trumps and rigidly applied moves, is something that always sort of catches my attention. It just feels like a game mechanic rigidly applied to a non-game situation and it annoys my OCD so much it's not even funny. Let's just take the Vulpix line as a not-so-random example: apparently they need to drink water to live, and Ninetales can even swim, but somehow they're still vulnerable to water when it comes in the form of a Pokemon move. From a game mechanics perspective, it makes perfect sense, but from any other perspective, like, like how does this even work? What exactly makes the difference between normal, safe, drinkable, swimmable water and weaponized dihydrogen monoxide? I mean, water can be weaponized, there's a reason fire hoses have been used for riot control, but still. As for the inability to improvise outside of moves, well, this also drives me nuts for many reasons but partially because of the many examples of Pokemon with pseudo-combat and non-combat abilities that don't neatly fit in the "ability" or "move" categories. It makes my brain tie itself in knots and just drives me nuts.

As far as Pokemon needing a trainer to display any type of higher-echelon thought, well, I could go on and on about the cultural implications but I'm too busy trying to figure out a theme song for this battle and battle motifs for every character because I might be the official unofficial Pokemon comics DJ of SmackJeeves or something, I don't know. I just haven't had a good rant for a while so dunnoes.

A Cardboard Box For a House? That is Funny!

@Nosh Ware, that was funny! @Shotgun Chuck, how about the Season One theme song of the Pokemon Anime?

posted by SmartTurtle04 on April 24th, 2018, 11:22 pm

@SmartTurtle04 Eh, not feelin' it.

I might just get lazy and link to some kind of basic "goes with everything" song.

Also, I suddenly cannot get over how much Victini looks like Gollum in the second-to-last panel.

posted by Shotgun Chuck on April 25th, 2018, 3:33 am

Oh Well.

@Shotgun Chuck, I guess there is still the Black and White season theme song as an option? Also If Victini says "Precious" I am going to laugh. All victini needs is a Hoopa ring.

posted by SmartTurtle04 on April 25th, 2018, 10:36 am

  Victini should be called

The wolf acting when it can't use moves or fly pokemon

Those formation of the rocks...
Reminds me of something men has

humans are terrible in hand to hand combat..

theyre slow, don't have claws and their bite is weak as fuck..

Jen you did no damage at all with your punch, If Victini keep scratching you like that even if she can't get your throat, you'll die..

If you try to grab her, she'll bite and scratche you, the pain will be too mucha dn you'll have to let go..

your body is just too inapt at combat even as a pokemon you still don't have claws and fangs..
