If the rate of growth of the singularity followed a logarithmic curve, that would mean it would be slowing down; it would still be growing, but the speed at which it is growing would be going down.

That should mean that the immediate area around the giant beam of light would be engulfed quickly (a couple hours), and areas at the far ends of the world would have more time (the full month).

THEREFORE we should expect the setting to change to an area far away from the singularity, i.e. Unova or other mainland regions.

Why I am analyzing this in the dead of night on a Friday morning, I don't know.

ALSO props to SB for pretty accurately representing Schrodinger's paradox and the multiverse theory. Always love it when the plot has some scientific relevance.

Some wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff happened and now we have a month to duct tape the universe back together or we all die. Actual repairs, as opposed to zip ties and tape, are on hold indefinitely if they're even possible.

I'm no expert, but I think this might be bad...?

Ahhh, I'm loving these pages so much. The second-to-last panel in particular has a full range of confusion, from N (who's probably used to all this by now), to Jen (who I'm guessing understood none of that conversation), to Darkrai (who's probably thinking "haven't I done worse, and didn't they fix that too?").

Also, I'm VERY curious - who actually gave Mewtwo that charcoal? Because I'm pretty sure almost everyone there would've written it off as just another one of his quips...

...It was Jen, wasn't it?

posted by Malc Modnar on May 19th, 2017, 2:37 am

I just like how Mewtwo is slowly getting charcoal all over himself as the presentation progresses.

I go to an engineering class and this makes no sense to me?

One of my fave scenes so far, undoubtedly

@GamingNinja engineering doesn't apply quantum physics, or does it?

That last panel of Mewtwo on the first page... that is PRICELESS. I might use that as a reaction image.

Mewtwo is me with any kind of messy art supplies, I inevitably end up with it allll over myself.
The fact that I am comparing myself to Mewtwo in this aspect is hilarious to me.

posted by WiispNightmare on May 19th, 2017, 6:53 am

For those who are having trouble getting their heads around this here are two facts that can be inferred:
1 the break off probably happened shortly after gangar messed things up (not that Mewtwo could know that)
2 the main boat is the human world where Jen's parents are (think back to page 402 first panel)
So yeah pretty bad. There's the possibility that the humans may have some"rope" being from that world and all or they could ask the biggest piece of "rope" ever for help you know the one that saved Mewtwo from Victini. Also they'll have more than a month once they contact celibi

Strange, I thought that Charizard knew Mewtwo since their fight in the Western cave in the first PMD game.

Oh hai Charizard and Tyranitar. Fancy you guys dropping in.

@Noobaraptor Quantum physics applies to everything, but everything doesn't necessarily apply to quantum physics.

Wait a minute, if the connection between the main world and PMD world was severed when the Ancient Relic blew up, then how was Hoopa able to go to the main world and bring Wes, N and Lovrina into the PMD world?

posted by PJSam on May 19th, 2017, 9:12 am

I love these pages. Mewtwo as a teacher for Quantum Physics in a school of 10 year olds^^

To answer Charizards question, I would say, Mewtwo is in a Team with the Zoroark and Krokorok

@Malc Modnar
Wasn't N the one who got the charcoal for him? It was in the previous update, last Panel.

Best Page Ever!

You have no idea how much I love this page! Mewtwo's expression in panel two and ten is just god tier lmao. He's got charcoal on his face XD. And omfg yes, Team A.C.T is back, hell yeah!

And just like most peers in my calculus class, pretty much everybody has absolutely no idea what is happening on the white board. Beautiful, hahah!

"Yep, we're screwed" You're right Wes, if even an Alakazam (They have an IQ of 5000) can't understand it, you know that all hope is lost.

Wow, This is exactly what my study group felt like when we were in calculus IV!

Also, nice job with the diagrams Mewtwo, I know firsthand just how hard it can be to explain vector calculus in layman terms to group of people. It's really damn hard!

Alright, I've studied and thought about the scientific drawing, and I think I kind of understand it. Basically, it looks like the main 4-dimensional shape got a little slice of it blown out, thus becoming the tangent universe, becoming I guess the PMD world. Now the links severed and the tangent universe is decaying.

I dunno, anyone else have a better interpretation?

posted by Umbreon/MegaAbsol on May 19th, 2017, 12:27 pm

@PJSam I have two theories in regards to this:

* It could be that the severing of one universe from the other is not instantaneous, or fleeting connections back could still be being made. In that case, Hoopa could still go back and forth between the two universes, possibly with certain limitations.
* It's probable that Hoopa's a fourth dimensional pokemon, much like Celebi is able to travel back and forth through time, due to the portals transporting individuals instantaneously across space. If that is the case, it might be the case that Hoopa is merely a projection of a fourth dimensional Pokemon into our three dimensional universe, and thus isn't tied to any one.

In the former case, there might still be time to re-establish the connection. In the latter, Pokemon such as Hoopa might be the only hope left, since they could theoretically sense the tear.

Don't worry.

Don't worry Mewtwo, I cant do accurate calculus in my head either.

Malicious redirect add on ios devices

You might want to speak to your advertizer. I kept getting an add that hijacks the page and turns it into an app add.

  quick fix

Ok, this maybe beyond mewtwos current power to deal with on his own. But if he just uses his head he can asks darkrai or hoopa, one of them can contact the various Pokemon of time, space, matter, anti-matter, alternate reality, and maybe the god of Pokemon himself(or herself or itself), and one or several of them can fix this shit in about an hour. And then smack a certain hothead into next week or next century for messing up the fabric of reality that bad in a place designed to be a haven from that exact kinda crap. Hopefully mewtwo will realize this soon before the pokemon themselves start getting dissolved into infrastructure dividing dimensions and supporting each universe and all of reality.

posted by ace229 (Guest) on May 19th, 2017, 10:35 pm

Strangely enough I think I understood all that. I'm not sure how are you understand it but I do. What's more I'm surprised didn't go with the whole surface tension idea or the fabric like a moving time space. The whole surface tension of the water being time space and things traveling across it and then at the black-hole could-be the world pool. What's more as you can also state Fulton universes are like islands but then again ahead of myself and going to ideas that are far beyond the relevant situation Still kudos to you suffer Bunny. You make things so much more intressting this way and I love how you were channeling the doctor in to mewtwo in the last panel of the 1st page ,Seriously I wanna see a pokemon mystery dungeon comic at least some kind of pokemon comic of some sort with the doctor in it And hes surprised by the fact that people have perfected tardis technology in the form of pokey balls And humans no less.

I wonder how the Ultra Wormhole and Dimension from Sun/Moon will play into this. I can't help but notice how similar the unaltered Creation engine on pg432 looks to Cosmog and Cosmoem.

And that would literally end the comic in about 20 pages.
Nah. let them suffer a bit longer. I like where this is going. :')

@Weird psychic: Dang it, I thought I was being clever and coming up with this first.
Ok, anyway, I didn't think of this at first, but this does very much sound like the "choice-based divergent multiverse" theory, but with some tweaks. Given what we've seen in the games, it's likely this is a "sanctuary" of sorts, a copy of the universe of the main games that Arceus created after Gengar's betrayal. That way, if humans completely screwed over their world, this one would still be here. However, due to possibly not having all of his power, this sanctuary isn't stable, and requires the main universe as a support. It's possible the "Creation Engine" was made as an automatic support device, it would hold the connection, and help stabilize reality, hence why it could reshape this tangent universe. So when it went up, that blew up the section of the 'tugboat' that was tied to the main ship.
Something that may have relevance is the divergence point. Gengar's betrayal probably wasn't the only reason, just the last straw, but it was still the critical divergence point. Hence, he, Gardevoir, and the Ninetails are all critically tied to that event. Hence, they may have some relevance in building a new 'tether' (Creation Engine), likely using the Space Globe from Destiny Tower as a power source (the Engine and the Globe do look a bit alike, probably just beacause Arceus likes signing his stuff.)

posted by Guest_3 (Guest) on October 14th, 2017, 1:23 pm

@Guest_3: I'm still gonna say it's all Ninetales' fault. Yes, Gengar was kind of a jerk. But there's a few details that are relevant:

1. He'd obviously decided human!Gengar was no longer worth chasing at that point (guess even as a human that guy could do a pretty good impresonation of the shadows at high noon).

2. Gardevoir had probably never done anything to him, not even look at him funny.

3. We've clearly seen that Pokemon have full sapience and at least some level of free will (I don't buy that "won't attack a human" bull even for a minute).

Therefore, even if Ninetales in general are predisposed to be vindictive jerks in general... this is all on him, for not fighting back against that instinct. He could have been the bigger 'mon and let it go, but no, he had to go off and dump Gardy into the void for a thousand years as a surrogate. Then he cried a river of crocodile tears and somehow, in doing so, managed to get this Super Speshul No Huminz Alowd Nanner Nanner Boo Boo Zone set up, without which this whole situation would be 100% impossible.

And yet, no one in or out of universe seems to think of this, and just goes on blaming Gengar while justifying Ninetales with "that's just how they are".

  I have a solution!

Me: *Puts hand up* Mewtwo, I have a question.

Mewtwo: *Sighs* Yes, you in the back.

Me: Yes, I has just walking on by when I heard about you're problem. If you're having troubles with space and/or dimensions, then why didn't you ask Palkia for some help? I mean, Palkia is the pokemon who's profession revolves around space and dimensions.

And who knows, Palkia could already have a plan in motion. If he doesn't have a plan already, then he'd be the best place to start to find a way to fix this.

Lopunny: That's great and all, but where and how are we going to get to Palkia? Doesn't he live in his own dimension?

Alakazam: I could ask around the other guild leaders, see if they know a way.

Wes: If that doesn't work then I guess we could ask that Hoopa that can "Open any door" for some help. Though I wouldn't like it, desperate times call for desperate measures.

Me: Yeah, see! We're not screwed yet, we just needed to ask the right pokemon for help.
