Poor Jen - At this point, I think she's getting a bit disillusioned with her sister.

I'm no longer worried about Gengar and Gardevoir making up. The real question now whether Lovrina is redeemable, and whether Jen will ever accept it if she is.

@sulfurbunny does a good job with Jen's facial expressions. Last time, the heart attack face, the time before that, that impossible-to-restrain smug grin when someone tries to show you up and fails, this time, that look you get when the hits just keep on coming.

I think she's starting to get some idea what a crash test dummy feels like, both physically and emotionally. Then again, in this comic, pretty much everyone has become familiar with that feeling at some point.

@Bwob: It's likely that she will be redeemable; after all, redemption does seem to be a major theme in this comic.

Maybe Jen and Lovrina lost both their parents or something, and Jens sister had no choice but to grow up fast and raise Jen? It's easy to just say that Lovrina did it just for the hell of it, but I'm pretty sure that Lovrina was mostly in it for the money, and only mildly interested in scientific breakthroughs. Otherwise, I just can't find a reason besides her being partially insane. But if I'm right, then it's probable that Lovrina grew up hating the world for the situation she was in when she was younger. A young genius, who wanted to go on a pokemon journey just all the other kids, now stuck in board meetings at age ten with an illegal organization (Team Rocket probably) that has no problems ignoring child labor laws, and is obsessed with recruiting young candidates.

Poor Darkrai

Wow Mewtwo, not even a "Hello?"

Also, I think it was suggested towards the beginning that this Darkrai is the same one seen in PMD2. If so, then it's probably not good for Darkrai to go back to the way he was.
Not like Mewtwo would have known, seeing how he can't read the minds of Dark-types.

@Bwob (Guest) There is always a chance for one to make up for a mistake. The more damage done the more one needs to do. But that is only if one seeks redemption.

Gengar did a long time ago and if I were a judge I'd say he has fully paid for his crime. But he hated his actions and ended up making up for them while not seeking redemption in his own eyes he was doing just that and that is also why he still feels he has no right to be considered a good guy.

Now Jen from the look of this is worried she could end up like her sister. She made it clear that she had no love for her after the stuff she has done. But if her sister can be redeemed is up to Lovrina and not Jen.

As far as Jen goes she is as pure as new fallen snow and just a kid at the same time. She has done nothing to need forgiveness for. Heck she helped someone else find redemption and a new best friend too.

@get in the bag nebby
It is implied the reason he was evil in PMD because of the XD process

Feels are now the biological weapons against comic readers. Want them to cry? Give them scenes like this that actually pull my feel strings. :'|

Isn't that kind of a good thing though...?

(Edited: I blame Auto Correct for this.)

The PTSD is real, and for Darkrai to ever come close to full recovery will be not only healing the mind, but the body and his heart & Soul.

It will be a long and hard road ahead of him, but he needs to do it, if Darkrai wants to have any hope, he needs to face his problems and come to peace with himself as well learn to forgive.

Bitterness, wrath, and anger are the fruits of unforgiveness. Unforgiveness is like a poison that begins on the inside and like cancer, spreads and consumes an individual’s life. They are only one step away from healing, but for some that is one step that is difficult to take. -Richard Ricciardelli

And Jen here will also needs to learn to forgive her sister. Gengar will need to forgive himself and we already are seeing the signs of it. Wes and N have forgiven each other a small mistake. The Town and Gengar's old partner has forgiven him, but Arbok has not and look where that is leading him. Even Darkrai needs forgiveness as much as he needs to forgive. Mewtwo has even found forgiveness, more so though N.

And all this will lead to redemption for those who need it the most, the real question is will they take that first step to try, wait, Mewtwo quoted Star Wars, so I guess I have to.

Do or Do Not, there is no try. But the consequences will be great for ether choice. Take a long painful road for what you need, or let yourself be consumed by the sins crawling up your back? The Choice is yours.

Jeez, Jen just doesn't get a break.

Also, the expressions of all these characters give me life.

I just noticed, panels 3, 4, and 5 really has mewtwo's face looks even more cat like. But I'm guessing it's only because of the angle and how serious the situation is.

You know, maybe, just maybe, Darkrai should find a girlfriend and start a family, it might just be the only thing he could end up having that would give him the strength and determination he needs to recover. You'd be surprised just how much knowing you have a child will change you, and a good chance for the better. Because let's face it, children have that power over everyone.

To quote Harry Dresden: Do you remember the first time you saw her? The first time she looked at you. Do you remember that change, that shift when the whole suddenly tilted. Do you remember looking at her and knowing you would never ever be the same person?

For poor Darkrai, he needs that change, it might just save him.
