Good Hoopa

Now what's this little son of a gun up to, throwing shoes into the machinery like this? This is like the slow driver who slows down even more when he hears you honking.

I don't think it's gonna happen, but I kinda wish either Wes or N to go to PMD world.....

...Nah, I am going with Hoopa is actually Miror B theory

Let's take a moment to consider this situation.

Victini's big plan has fallen apart. Mewtwo, the biggest WMD on the good guys' team, is out of commission. Darkrai and Gengar are unaccounted for. There's still a lot of loose ends with Cipher. The Creation Engine has been destroyed, and we don't even know what it DOES.

And now Hoopa has come out of nowhere and is very clearly up to no good.

In short, I have NO FREAKING CLUE where this is going.

  "I'm scared! Really, really scared!"

Hoopa...if Mewtwo's not in that same spot where you left him, perfectly unharmed, I'm gonna...

...Dooo...nnnnothing, because you're not real. :P

However, it is good to see the return of the - I'm not quite sure this is the main plot, but one of the major side ones, anyway, and the way the two link up. Now we just need to pull in Victini and Gengar, Jen, & Co. and the story will be all back together again.

Also, Wes: You can't put Mewtwo in a Poke Ball. Just for the record, you can't do that, he's not like other Pokemon. And...I'm still not sure whether he can use a phone or not. Now that we've discovered that he can talk, maybe he could. It wouldn't matter whether he spoke English or Pokemon, if he was talking to N, after all.

I understand where Wes is coming from with the Poke Ball remark, though. He's frustrated, kind of helpless, N knows someone who could help but said someone isn't here and there's no way of contacting him, short *maybe* of N concentrating really hard and hoping Mewtwo reads his mind. And said someone would be here if they'd put him in a Poke Ball. I understand.

I found it kind of sweet that N immediately thought that Mewtwo would know what to do, though :3

Man things are starting to really heat up.

I can already picture Hoopa's unrealistic demands playing out.

Hoopa: "Bring me Ashkon right noaaoow, oh, and also...ACT SURPRISED when he shows up, even if you're not!"

Yerp, the list is pretty short I'd say lol!

Okay, I can see this playing out in one of three ways. 1. Hoopa brings Mewtwo to them but then they will find out that they can't get back to the PMD world. 2. Hoppa brings them to Mewtwo but then they are trapped in the PMD world. Or 3. Hoopa will swap Mewtwo for one of them.
Personally I hope scenario 2 happens.

How the hell did Hoopa find them so fast?!

And don't tell me that he used instant transmission either, cuz I ain't falling for that one lolz!

Hmm, it's Hoopa again. Neat.

@PJSam

Maybe, possibly even. But why would he do that? From what it looks like, Hoopa is either trying to manipulate the events taking place, or he's simply stockpiling up enough favors in hopes of making a ton of powerful allies who will do his bidding and help him achieve his goal...but obviously Mewtwo wouldn't help out if it was anything at all nefarious.

Unless he truly believes that Mewtwo will be unconditionally grateful for what he did, and just simply do whatever he asks as thanks, which would imply that he may not fully understand how to negotiate while holding leverage at all - which I doubt.

So far, Hoopa hasn't really mentioned any motives at all, only that he's looking for...something...or possibly someone?

Plus, outside of what Victini was attempting, I can't honestly think of anything a legendary would actually want. I mean, lets face it, with their powers, they can literally take anything they want that has materialistic value, bend the world to their every whim. So what could Hoopa possibly want?

In Explorers, Darkrai simply wanted to plunge the world into darkness and rule over it, so I guess there is that...though it seems a bit shallow >_>

When seen from that angle, it really does simply come down to what they can't obtain through power alone.

A friend, a human perhaps? As Cheesy-Squeezy has said, the list is rather small, the only question is, what is on that list of things...

  @ReaderWriterNerd&Geek

One world is much like another. Who's to say I can not enter this one.

@XD-MADNESS: If you go back to Ninetale's conversation with Jen and co., it's mentioned that the "firstborn" (which seems to include the legendary and mythical pokemon) are capable of bringing humans through the dimensional rift. That gives Hoopa all the leverage it needs - all it needs to do is convince them to go through, then make it clear that it's their only ride home.

But why now, of all times? Hoopa certainly has a motive, since we're only seeing it in its bound form here - I'd be willing to bet it wants the prison bottle that's keeping it that way. Maybe the Creation Engine was keeping it restrained somehow, or maybe Victini got to it beforehand. I suspect the latter, based on what Hoopa said when it left Team AWD's service: "The fruit of your work this day will be sweet indeed... though perhaps not quite to your taste..."

posted by Malc Modnar on September 13th, 2016, 10:59 pm

@XD-MADNESS He could be stockpiling "markers" to call in later, or he could have a more immediate goal. I also suspect that rather than asking Mewtwo and his other debtors to do obviously nefarious things that might cause them to balk, he'll ask for small, seemingly inconsequential favors that all add up to a nefarious plan and hope no one puts two and two together.

@Hoopa (Guest) Who's to say you can not leave this one, either?

posted by Shotgun Chuck (Guest) on September 14th, 2016, 12:21 am

@Hoopa: Yes, I agree with @Shotgun Chuck. Please leave. Also, leave Mewtwo alone.

And N, Wes, Jen, Gengar, and every hero of this comic and innocent bystanders as well, you contractual genie creature.

@XD-MADNESS
Who says that Hoopa has a long term goal? Maybe he just likes dicking with people.

posted by PJSam on September 14th, 2016, 2:29 am

Hoopla is either going to teleport them to Mewtwo as the two only humans in that area place, or he/she/it is going to change them into pokemon, I bet Mews maybe if not Mewtwos so they can be there. Oh the shenanigans. It will be glorious.

@PJSam
I personally am hoping Hoopa wants to turn all humans into pokemon, But given that Humans are pokemon according to the lore, I'm guessing more traditional Pokemon versus what we are currently.

...this comic is old. I wonder what's the original plan for this chapter when Hoopa didn't even existed back then?

@Guest The world may never know, my Guest brother.

@XD-MADNESS

Heh, remember when you recapped those characters in Pokemon who have actually died? Yeah...you can add Lysandre to that list. There is no coming back from that! (Episode 42-43.)

posted by Dark Matter on September 15th, 2016, 1:11 pm

Holy nuts! Did that just happen?! I just watched that episode and I still cannot believe it. Lysandre literally died from that explosion, daaaaaammnn!

I love this season! XD
