  OK, Mewtwo, stop talking like a robot

Really, you're creeping me out. Although, I do kind of like the concept here - that Mega Evolutions cause the Pokemon to go into a different frame of mind where battling is what counts, and only battling. Or is that just Mewtwo? Or is that just because it's Plasma's device? Or am I reading too much into it...?

I keep half-expecting every page to suddenly switch to Gengar and Darkrai's point of view, and being both relieved and disappointed when it doesn't. XD Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the Mewtwo/Victini battle, and Mewtwo's my favorite so I like the story staying where he is, but now that his immediate crisis is averted I'm really curious to know what happened to Gengar and Darkrai. But I'm know we'll find out in due time, so, no worries. :)

"User must preserve moral lethal outcomes does not apport solutions to main problem"
Ok, I don't know if Mewtwo is joking or if he trully is robot minded right now

Also, something tells me that sulfurbunny is enjoying this page

Perhaps his speech is just showing his increased power. His mind sees the current situation, all it is and could be, and picks the best path.

Or He's been taken over by the bracelet.

I was playing Elsword and reading this kinda reminded me of Eve. I'm sorry for imagining him with female (robot) voice but the words seemed fit.

"The gap between your power and mine is too large."

"Resistance is futile, surrender yourself."

This comic is full of surprises.

  Weapon...

Looking at the Page Name makes me think that maybe the bracelet is bringing out the part of him that is how he was engineered to be - a perfect weapon. If he was just thinking faster, I doubt it'd be that bad.

Also, the 'neutralize' gives me the chills.

It's Mewtwo's expression that really gets me here. Throughout the comic, he's been a very empathetic character - we've seen him laugh, cry, and fight desperately for what he believes in - but his expression here is just detached. This is one of the most important fights of Mewtwo's life, and the lives of his friends hang in the balance... yet he just seems bored. All his restraint, all his sympathy for what's been done to Victini is gone. She's just a threat to be neutralized.

Also, "infection vector" is a troubling term. Mewtwo was only able to resist shadow corruption because of his compassion for others. If that's gone, we might be about to trade a villain for a weapon of mass destruction.

@Moic Modnar

Well, Victini took a moment to charge up the Shadow V-Create. Super Saiyan Kitty ain't gonna give him the chance to do that again. Also, my theory about mega evolution has always been that it unlocks the full battling potential of the Pokemon at the cost of their higher functions, and it falls to the linked Trainer to exercise control. With this Plasma device, Mewtwo only has a tenuous link to N; however, his higher functions are exceptionally strong, which is why he hasn't gone off like a nuke. I don't think he's dangerous to anyone but Victini, not right now; what I think will be a problem is wondering what happens when the battle's over and he needs to revert.

I think "infection vector, dangerous" just refers to the fact that Victini can't be left alive as she is.

The title of this page is intriguing. Perhaps the bracelet was created in an effort to control Mewtwo, make him into a weapon...
(aand someone else pretty much said this already. Ah well)

Mewtwo = RoboCop

His mind is working so efficiently that it is practically an automated response to anything deemed as a threat it seems.

  @PJSam

Well, DVDs are pretty cheap these days :)

Also, the armor Mewtwo wears is strikingly similar to RoboCop. Even the visor is is almost the same!

I wonder if that's what Giovanni was trying to make him into. A Pokemon police officer or an enforcer that only obeyed Team Rocket.

@Guest

That's actually a pretty good theory on what he was trying to accomplish. If you can't make authority work for you, then make one that will. For a criminal boss, this seems fitting

Like a puppet on a string.

well your theory is in fact intrigueing, I think that it is partially incorrect. In the movie that had genesect, mewtwo had complete control over itself, this "robotic" behavior might be the result of having his mental capacity increased tenfold or that the bracelet is exerting some sort of mindcontrol.

I'm just waiting for Jen to pop out from somewhere and say "Stop it, Mewtwo!" Because with how overpowered Mewtwo is now, and the robotic speaking, I feel like the antagonist roles might just shift. And I wouldn't want that, I like Mewtwo :(

@rave917

Well there is one small difference between the other Mewtwo and the original one. The one from the Genesect movie didn't need a bracer to mega-evolve, and if the over the top fusion evolution in the Kalos XYZ saga says anything at all on the matter, then I'd say neither of the Mewtwos actually need a mega-stone + keystone since they are already part human, so they can probably access fusion evolutions by themselves and bypass the human/pokemon bonding requirement.

The original Mewtwo just hasn't accepted that part of himself quite yet. In fact, he probably can't even remember Amber at all from during his incubation phase in the movie. Thus, the female Mewtwo has likely already accepted that she is part human, which is why she didn't need a human to sync with.

Yes, some might have already forgotten that if a pokemon mega evolves without a strong enough bond, they end up losing control of their instincts and lash out indiscriminately, which directly mirrors the behavior of primal evolution. Since the word primal implies that the pokemon has somehow regressed as a trade-off for more power rather than increased intelligence to overcome their instincts.

But I'd imagine the reversed outcome of Mewtwo gaining even more intelligence and losing control due to mega evolving would mean that he is sacrificing something else in return for such power. In this case, where his mind has become almost robotic in nature, he has sacrificed both his emotions and his individuality, because his brain has deemed them unnecessary and inefficient.

A lot of people who are high level geniuses in real life sometimes show instances of insanity due to how their brains work. In other words, if a single word or a small combination of them can convey their every thought, then why use complete sentences. It wastes time, and therefore isn't needed to sustain brain functions - yeah, kind of sounds like antisocial disorder if you ask me :)

Oh brother, in every single commentary everybody keeps referred to it as "Mewtwo". Come on people get with the program, in that form it's now a "MewTHREE"!
