"I lost track"
As he's standing at a train track.

Looks like I'm wrong again, he didn't die, just disappeared. And now, we know how Kecleon got separated from home. And it would seem there are some drawbacks to having a trainer, wild Pokemon's know how to forage for food and fight, tame Pokemon's need a trainer to feed them and tell them how to fight.

@mymom2000

He probably died in an accident at work, or had a heart attack. No one would think to tell a lowly Kecleon, as it's about the same as telling your spouses near-immortal dog that their owner's dead, as neither has a concrete grasp on what death is.

I loved Kecleon from the start, but now I love him even more! He really reminds me of my own grandpa...which is why I loved the fact that Gengar called him "Grandpa" earlier.

  Kinmotsu no Yoryuu

I don't think so, if he had died at work, a coworker or the boss would've called her to inform her of this, if he had a heart attack, he be in a Pokemon Center and nurse joy would be calling to inform her. But no, it was Ofc. Jenny at the door, and when she's involved you know it,s foul play.

First I thought Kecleon meant this purple Kecleon when he talked about his partner. I was really surprised he had a real trainer.
Then, on the last page, I thought his partner would die of old age and then he would be alone (what would have been sad enough).
But this is kind of cruel. He lived with his trainer for so many years and then this is how they have to part.
