There is more than one kind of idiot. Though people are comletely stupid in some areas, they can be quite clever in others.

I dislike how little credit Gengar gives Pokemon. I was always of the impression that Pokemon were as smart as humans.

MetaFawful: I actually really like his disdain of pokemon, its a nice change where as in usual pokemon comics, pokemon are given human-like thoughts when in normal, pokemon aren't that smart...

Sure, they were made so that they can think, but all in all, a good lot of them are drawn after animals including the thought process. We'll take the most obvious example, Pikachu from the anime. It's obviously smart as it can understand commands, feel/do some things that humans can that animals can't (it once got a brain freeze) etc. But there are other times where pikachu acts more like an animal or "dumb", such as one case where pikachu thought an X on a map was suppose to be literally on the ground, and kept poking it. When ash turned into a pikachu directly infront of it, it spent nearly the entire time wondering where Ash went, and so forth.

I really admire this comic for bringing in more of the animal side of pokemon, rather than the easier human side. I think it makes it a lot more connected to the actual creation of pokemon and more reasonable.

All of which is of course just my opinion. :)

Gengar may not be a fair and unbiased judge, just saying...

And you would know this... how, Gengar? (Why am I still being so coy? Lol)

An 11 year old couldn't figure all that out! Most adults couldn't either.

@Tijopi11 I know this is a four-years-late reply, but I don't think Gengar is saying pokemon are dumb, just naive. He's saying that they're ignorant of and blind to the possibilities of trickery that we humans just sort of expect even when we don't approve of them.

Also, Jen's a clever girl if she figured out "friends close, enemies closer" all on her own.
